The Three Stooges Get Stoned
May 12th, 2009 by RickIf you don’t know who the Three Stooges are then you’ve either been living under a rock or somewhere in the caves of Afghanistan. (I’m looking at you, Osama.)
Back in the 80s, there was a short lived show on TV called Fridays, that was considered by some as a second rate Saturday Night Live. The show had actors that disappeared into obscurity but it also had talent and speckle of brilliance like Larry David, who went on to co-create Seinfeld and then produce, write and star in his own incredibly funny show, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The above skit only aired once, probably because of the whole reefer madness debacle and the fear mongering the networks were driven to, when it came to comedic routine dealing with pot and pot-dealing, in this case. Officially, however the skit was cut due to protests from the estate of Moe Howard.
The actors mimic the Three Stooges with all the classic gags but bring one more to the table with finally explaining their crazy, humorous antics by casting them as stoners. The story itself is classic, a group of friends, waiting to get hooked up from their dealer and then wanting to showcase their homemade atomic bong.
Let the chaos begin and the hilarity ensue, because whether you’re medicated or sober, this skit deserves a resurgence… internet style.
Curb Your Enthusiasm Returns with Season 7
October 24th, 2008 by Alex
Just a quick reminder that the king of spreading hilarious misery, Larry David, is in production for Season 7 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The show is slated to launch in early 2009, but if you haven’t been keeping track of Leon, Cheryl, Jeff or the rest of the gang, you can re-watch Season 6.
Take a look at HBO’s schedule to catch some repeats.
Here’s one of my favorite scenes:
