Dispensaries the Focus in San Francisco, CA
October 15th, 2008 by Perry
Apparently, dispensaries are becoming the next Starbucks in San Francisco, and to quote the Dude, “and that’s cool, that’s cool,” but the situation has everyone else on edge.
And by everyone I mean the state’s attorney general, Jerry Brown who has nominally supports dispensaries, and California’s Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, which hasn’t. And dispensary customers which are victimized by a tragic policy war.
The CA Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement gave dispensary owners until January 21st, 2009 to comply with Brown’s 11-page list of directives that dispensaries need to follow. The directives are basically policies the clinics need to follow, such as purchasing marijuana from other cooperative members, not private growers. Brown predicted as many as half of the city’s 26 dispensaries may face closure due to the extra regulations, which are aimed at taking the street market out of dispensaries, but most legitimate dispensary owners don’t seem to mind if it gives their business an added level of legitimization.
DEA Continues to Violate State’s Rights

Despite the state’s top prosecutor Attorney General Jerry Brown’s specific instructions to obey local and state, (not federal guidelines regarding medical marijuana laws,) several local law enforcement agencies participated in federal raids of several southern Californian dispensaries.
I would like to thank Brown personally for his efforts, but he really needs to put a leash on those pesky pigs or do something else that’s slightly more effective.
Those dispensaries that were raided are listed below:
