Court Date & Movie Premiere for Waylett
July 9th, 2009 by RickA court date has finally been set for actor of Harry Potter fame, 19-year old Jamie Waylett, who was busted back in April for having ten marijuana plants at his home in Kilburn, north London. On July 16th, Waylett and 20-year old John Innis are scheduled to appear in the Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Waylett plays the character, Vincent Crabbe, the right hand man of Draco Malfoy, Potter’s schoolyard nemesis. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is set for it’s world premiere on Tuesday, July 14th at Leicester Square in London.
Harry Potter Actor Busted for Secret Grow-Op

Oh, Crabbe. Were those medicated cupcakes in The Chamber of Secrets? No wonder you passed out.
Last Wednesday, Victor Crabbe, bully supreme at Hogwarts Academy, had sadly gone back to his muggle life of Jamie Waylett, alleged pot farmer. It began when Waylett and another man were pulled over and eight bags of weed were found in the car. Police then went to his mother’s house, conducted a search and found 10 mature marijuana plants. If convicted, Waylett may now be facing severe penalties for his garden; up to 5 years for possession and 14 years in prison for growing ganja.
The fact that they changed cannabis from a class C to a class B drug is a joke. In case you didn’t know, the different kinds of illegal drugs in the UK are separated into three classes: A, B, and C. Marijuana shouldn’t be on the list at all, but classifying it as more dangerous than painkillers such as tranquilizers and GHB is simply absurd. Now in the eyes of the law, pot is as bad as amphetamines and barbiturates!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premeires this summer on July 17th and while I’m still irked about Waylett’s situation, my love for the series overcomes any disdain I may feel towards it. I’m definitely going to be extremely medicated when I go; maybe I’ll whip up a batch of “Free Crabbe” t-shirts and distribute them freely.
