Rolling is an artform… an artform that not all people have mastered. For those of you who have difficulty hand rolling, but still like to smoke blunts, ZenSmoke offers a solution - Cyclones.

Although this isn’t a new entry to the market, our last review was seriously disappointing, so I wanted to take another look and see if things improved.

Turns out, this cone was surprisingly good. Made in the Phillipines, Cyclones have hard-shell packaging and a straw inside the cone itself to protect the shape. It’s patent pending (still…) and comes with a built in crutch.

The smell was more strawberry than strawberry-kiwi, which is odd, because the inside of the packaging actually had a kiwi scent to it. The cone just loses that scent once exposed to the outside world. The wrap itself was totally fine, not too dry, not too wet and extremely easy to get down to business.

One definite issue with the build quality is the crutch, if you use a grinder, the plant material is going to fall out the bottom of the cone. The crutch only has two folds and doesn’t give much support. We had to pinch the cone to make sure nothing dropped from the bottom.

This Cyclone smoked smooth. It was lighter than a normal blunt, but heavier than papers. Not much flavor was added, and you could barely taste the tobacco from the cone. Back to the smoothness, there is no harsh aftertaste and the cone lets you enjoy the strain within. There is also a sweetness on the lips that the Cyclone leaves after each rip, so that’s a change of pace.

This cone isn’t for everyone, but for two bucks (and the added convenience) it’s definitely worth a shot. Let us know what you think…

Mountain High: King Size Cones

Cones: King Size

There are many devices being made that allow the smoking experience faster, easier and better. Some prefer the ‘by hand’ method of rolling, but not everyone. Today, I’m reviewing Mountain High: King Size Cones, the original pre-rolled smoking papers.

Category Papers (Pre-rolled)

Pros Amazingly easy roll
Cons A little pricey
Price $1.25
tFS Rating 8.5/10

The first thing you notice about this product is the incredible attention to detail, specifically starting with the package design. After sliding off the backing, you will see directions for converting it into a channeled delivery mechanism. Yea, it’s just as easy to fold a paper in half, but this is a more accurate system.

Moving into the cones, they are thin (semi-transparent) rice papers. They come in packs of 3 and each one has the ‘Cones’ logo embossed into the papers themselves. One thing that stands out is the extremely long filter. Luckily, due to the size of these cones and their expansion, you can still pack more than enough into these things.

The cones taste and smoke well, just like your regular unflavored king size. Worth noting is the build quality, with no creases or air leaks on the seam.

Overall, these cones provide an avenue for people low on time to roll up a high quality joint. They’re made for a purpose and perform it well.
