DigitalGavel: The DG Water Project
January 6th, 2009 by Alex
Digital Gravel, one of the best independent clothing shops, has decided to start 2009 off with a full-on charity campaign – The DG Water Project.
DG teamed up with 10 brands – The Hundreds, Foreign Family, Staple, 3Sixteen, ABCNT, Bombin’, GRTR THAN, Selector, Hoodman, and Nonsense – to put out some custom designs promoting the cause of building a play pump in Africa.
What are playpumps? Let’s quote DG:
All proceeds from the sale of these items will go towards building a clean water playpump in Africa which can easily deliver clean water to a village of 2,500 people for 10 years.
Pretty good deal right? Get some custom gear and help make the world a better place. The collection is in its second day and is made up of 24 men’s tees, 24 sweatshirts and 12 women’s tees. So far, DG has raised $7,000 of it’s $14,000 goal, so get to it!

- Date: Saturday, Dec. 13th
- Time: 9am – 5pm
- Location: Downtown Los Angeles (Google Maps)
See you there.
MMJ Comedy Show: ExtravaGANJA
December 8th, 2008 by Alex
Prominent activist, and all around cool guy, Howard Dover has organized another comedy show to benefit the medical marijuana community.
Hosted at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Howard always brings together some top talent to help his main cause. Russell Peters is the host and plenty of other performers will show up. You might even get to talk to Jack Herer.
If you’re in the area (and aren’t opposed to laughing), go see the show and tell us how it went.
Oh yea, check out some of the good times at one of Howard’s recent shows.
