February 28th, 2007 by Alex
While checking out the edibles at my local dispensary, I decided to pick up Chef Boyarweed’s Dank Brownie and it made my night turn out especially relaxing.

The smell doesn’t signal any potency within. Unfortunately, when eating this little delectable, it doesn’t provide the best chocolate flavor… largely due to the sizable amounts of marijuana mixed in (which you will definitely notice). Just wash it down with a glass of milk and you’ll be good to go.
One thing I wish was on the packaging was the amount of bud used in the recipe and also the strain type. Still, it is well worth the $10 price tag. Overall, a great edible that doesn’t break your wallet and leave you asking, “That’s it?”
If it works for you as it did for me, you’ll be looking to increase your brownie budget.
Munchie Monkey Brownies
February 15th, 2007 by Alex
There are plenty of pot brownie recipes on the internet, but not all are created equally. A tFS reader sent in a scan of the following brownie recipe from the January edition of Out Magazine and damn does it sound delicious.
The scan itself wasn’t of the highest quality, so I’ve just transcribed the recipe here for everyone to enjoy and pass around. I’m a little skeptical about the ‘Pot Prep’ section, but since this is their recipe I’m going to re-print everything here exactly how it is.
Let me know if the brownies taste as good as they sound!

Pot Brownies Made Easy
November 30th, 2006 by Alex
One of the coolest things about the internet is the sharing of knowledge. It allows you to find (and build upon) other peoples’ impressive bodies of work. Doesn’t matter whether it’s for a book report, college thesis, or … say … some delicious pot brownies. It’s all about doing the best you can with what you have access to.
So, finding a highly-detailed site specifically dedicated to making quality pot brownies is something everyone can work with. Over at AppleSoft, you’ll find one of the best tutorials around. With step-by-step instructions, tons of pictures and explanations for his methods - the author has really upped the ante on these fan favorites.
You’ll also find slightly unconventional methods - using oil instead of butter, using smaller amounts of high-grade herb instead of larger amounts of schwag and thorough straining without putting shake into the actual brownie mix.
We’re warming up the tFS ovens over the weekend, so expect Chef Tim and myself to break down exactly how good this ‘How To’ really is.
Two Students Arrested Over Pot Brownies
October 30th, 2006 by Alex
Let me paint a picture for you…
It’s the season finale of ER. There’s snow on the ground and things are getting hectic. One of the nurses picks up the phone. It’s an emergency - the ambulance is coming in hot. Everyone hauls ass to get to the door, a stretcher is prepped to carry the patient into the OR. The ambulance backs in, its doors are opened and there’s a teacher’s aide strapped to the gurney shaking uncontrollably.
What the hell could cause all this mayhem? I’ll tell you - felony assault. But not just your every day assault. We’re talking felony assault… with pot brownies.
That’s right. In Manlius, NY two high school students face drug charges because one of them shared a weed-laced brownie with a teacher’s aide. After realizing the brownie contained some green leaf, the assualted teacher’s aide was rushed to the hospital.
Corrine Prigle, 17, was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor drug charges. The guy that sold the brownies to her, Zebediah Gallagher, 16, also faces a felony count - criminal sale of marijuana. It’s pretty amazing that something of this nature has the ability to ruin two kids’ lives. I know that 16 and 17 is a little young to be messing with ganja, and bringing it to school obviously isn’t the smartest thing, but charging them with felony assault and felony distribution? Seriously?
