Governor, Why Is Pot Still Illegal?

October 3rd, 2008 by Perry

Paul Armentano, a cannabis legal expert and member of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws,) is calling out names. He lists seven governors (6 Repub., 1 Dem.) who single-handedly shot down reforms that would have made marijuana either legal or decriminalized.

Now get out there and put some pressure on your local representative. Remember, this movement has to start at the roots…

2008 Stonys Winner: Stonervention

October 2nd, 2008 by Alex

The UCB guys were dope enough to stop by our 2008 Stonys post and drop a link to the video that won the Stony for Best Internet Video - Stonervention.

Figured we should throw it on the front page and get more of you productive assholes to see this and learn about your douchebaggery ways. Don’t hurt your friends, and remember, the first step is admitting you have a problem!

Green Man’s Growing Guide

October 2nd, 2008 by Alex

The Internet can be a beautiful thing. It’s one of the few places where people really share knowledge, and expect little in return. Here we have a gem known as Green Man’s Marijuana Growing Guide.

No, not that Greenman.

Instead, it’s a huge, free resource for amateur growers. Check out the main categories you can get tips on:

  • Indoor Cultivation
  • Outdoor Cultivation
  • Hydroponics
  • Troubleshooting
  • General Growing
  • Specific Growing

Nice. Topics range from Hydroponics 101 to Increasing Marijuana Yield. Even if you’re an experienced horticulturalist, I’m sure there is a thing or two on Green Man’s site that you don’t know.

So go check it out, and thanks Green Man, in all your forms.

More On Lies, and the Lying Liars

October 2nd, 2008 by Perry

In the latest bout by federal drug enforcement officials to propagate the war on drugs, they claim to have found the largest marijuana plants, ever.

The article, brought to you by the fine people at Stopthedrugwar, goes on to further explain why some of the governments claims about marijuana busts they make, are based on street value. Moreover, the yield claims are greatly exaggerated and sometimes scientifically impossible.

Per Stopthedrugwar.org:

Cops often inflate the weight of their yield by using the fresh weight instead of the dry weight of the plants, BTW, so the most typical inflation is 400%; in other words, their alleged 10 pounds is most likely to weigh about 2.5 pounds, based on the typical cop exaggeration.

Obviously, these exaggerations make the police and their anti-drug efforts seem much more effective than they actually are. What a surprise.

Music Teacher with Pot Passes Out in School Parking Lot

October 2nd, 2008 by Perry

Oh man, you almost have to feel sorry for this guy. First of all, he probably works at the high school he attended in small town Virginia. And his career is probably over. And he’s living in his car? Or just got high and passed out.

Either way, probably want to find a better spot next time before you get caught in the school parking lot with weed on you.

Governator Fights Against MMJ

October 2nd, 2008 by Perry

Instead of trying to right a woeful economy, Arnola seems more intent on persecuting medical marijuana users.

Arnie recently vetoed a bill that would have protected medical marijuana users from being fired for a positive drug test. I guess you’d better go out and by that bottle of Urine Luck, afterall. Boo, Arnold. You suck eggs.

Travis Henry Busted For Drug Operation

October 2nd, 2008 by Perry

I probably wouldn’t enjoy it so much, if he weren’t such a dirtbag.

Travis Henry, former Bills, Titans and Broncos running back, was recently arrested for a part he allegedly played, in an interstate cocaine-marijuana smuggling ring. Henry is also facing a one-year suspension for repeated violations of the league’s drug policy in a separate incident. But that’s only if another team actually signs him (which is unlikely because the charges he’s facing carry a maximum of life in prison.)

Some athletes like to help the kids, Henry just likes to create them. It was in the record for a Georgia paternity suit that Henry had fathered nine children with nine different women.
