Blunt Wrap Magnum: Coconut Vanilla
March 8th, 2007 by Tim
When presented with vanilla-flavored smoke accessories, I tend to hold higher standards. If I believe the product falls even slightly below the bar, then I consider the attempt unsuccessful. Luckily there’s nothing to worry about on this one, Blunt Wrap Magnum: Coconut Vanilla.

| Category | Blunts |
| Company | Blunt Wrap |
| Made In | Domincan Republic |
| Pros | Pleasant aroma |
| Cons | Low on flavor |
| Price | $1.50 |
| tFS Rating | 8.0/10 |
Like always, Blunt Wrap manages to pull off a perfect amount of moisture, an essential part to any presentation. Kingpin, are you taking notes? The smoke is smooth without all of the harsh qualities usually existent in multiple flavored blunts. Unfortunately, there’s no added taste, which (in my opinion) is becoming more regularly neglected by blunt manufacturers.
Bottom line: This wrap should suit the average smoker (and vanilla enthusiast) unless the lack of smoke essence is a real deal-breaker.
The Hemp Fields of China
March 7th, 2007 by AlexI really enjoyed this video clip of one man’s travels through one part of China checking out hemp fields and the advantages of the plant.
I think you’ll be surprised at how many applications hemp can be used: clothing, paper, rope, as well as houses entirely made out of the stuff! It makes you take a second look at how much hemp can be used to save (at least a fraction of) our depleting natural resources.
This clip also has some other interesting facts about hemp labor laws in China. You won’t find any child labor here as they keep strict laws to maintain ethical treatment to their employees. One more thing, wait for the surprise at the end!
Medical Marijuana: Hash Plant
March 7th, 2007 by Tim
Looking for a no non-sense herb without the frills? Hash Plant is one of those indeed, lacking just about everything besides the stone.
| theFreshScent Product Recap | |
|---|---|
| Strain | Hash Plant |
| Type | Indica dominant |
| Pros | Good body high |
| Cons | Over-priced, bad taste |
| Price | $20/g, $65/8th |
| tFS Rating | 6.0/10 |
The earthy flavor of the smoke left something to be desired, a taste similar to chlorophyll (a likely symptom of improper curing.) A good aspect about Hash Plant is its very resinous nature, so you know the end result will be just fine. The high is very nice. It starts in the chest area and gradually works its way up north. The stone lasts for around two to three hours.
If you don’t like all that glitz and glamor with rock star buds like kush, then Hash Plant might be right for you. Although it’s over-priced, doesn’t taste very good, and is kind of malodorous; it tries to compensate in the effects department and does so admirably. Honestly, if you spend an extra five bucks, you can get a bud that excels in all departments. Spend the extra five bucks.
Peter Tosh – Live @ Reggae Sunsplash ‘79
March 6th, 2007 by AlexThis clip of Peter Tosh singing Legalize It reminds me how strongly he feels about his message. The performance begins like clockwork but by the end you can tell how blazed he is, obviously unable to finish the songs.
You can’t knock Tosh and reggae music. He’s always had that smooth reggae sound. So take some time off, kick your feet up and enjoy this timeless clip.
Kingpin: Paradise Peach
March 6th, 2007 by Alex
The ZenSmoke blunt I’m reviewing today is Kingpin: Paradise Peach. Right off the bat, you’ll notice the presentation sets this blunt apart from the rest and I’m not saying that’s a good thing.
| theFreshScent Product Recap | |

| Category | Blunts |
| Company | ZenSmoke |
| Made In | Philippines |
| Pros | Good taste |
| Cons | Too dry |
| Price | $1.50 |
| tFS Rating | 6.5/10 |
The hard-shell plastic tube can be used later for safe blunt or joint transportation (and who knows, that might be a strong selling point to some.) The leaf itself is wrapped around a straw with plastic sheet between the folds.
This Kingpin did smoke nicely though. The taste of the smoke was extremely smooth and leaves a sweetness on the mouth. It even burns at a slower than average speed, perfect for a group session.
Overall, the initial unwrapping of the packaging left me slightly dumbfounded on how I was going to roll with this dry-as-hell leaf. Yet, despite having some bad luck with this selection, I wouldn’t mind trying another Kingpin.

Wired’s Vaporware for Pot Smokers
March 5th, 2007 by Tim
Recently, Wired published an image gallery of some of the many vaporizer products out on the market today. Needless to say, their expertise doesn’t lie and cover this segment of the industry, so don’t expect complete, in-depth reviews. We’ll provide those.
Instead of summing up the intro + captions, I’ll use Wired’s exact words:
Herbal enthusiasts — otherwise known as potheads — are putting a high-tech spin on the age-old practice of getting high as a kite. Tokers are turning to specialized devices that vaporize marijuana rather than burning it. The vaporizers get hot enough to extract all the plant’s psychotropic chemicals, but not hot enough to actually combust. The smoker gets a hit of sweet, sticky vapor — and an allegedly healthier high, since the carcinogens and solid particles get left behind, that’s especially attractive to users of medicinal marijuana.

Medical Marijuana: Master Kush
March 5th, 2007 by Alex
Well, this is a definite first for tFS. The rating and name speaks for itself. Master Kush, an indica strain, is the best medical marijuana money can buy.
| theFreshScent Product Recap | |
|---|---|
| Strain | Master Kush |
| Type | Indica dominant |
| Pros | Strongest high |
| Cons | Expensive |
| Price | $30/g, $80/8th |
| tFS Rating | 10.0/10 |
In addition, the smoke has a sweet zip to it and doesn’t leave a bad aftertaste in the mouth. The high hits hard & quickly from the beginning, mostly starting in the head and moving its way throughout in a matter of minutes.
There aren’t many significant negatives that stand out other than the fact that it can be too intense at times. Yes, too intense. And this 10 out of 10 kush strain is not cheap by any means, but hey if you can afford it, saddle up cowboy! You will not be disappointed.
