420 The Movie

May 3rd, 2007 by Alex

###

The first teasers for 420 The Movie have become available and, by all appearances, the project looks awesome.

Not to be confused with 420, which was written and directed by Jon Lyons in 2004. This movie brings in many of the heavy hitters from past and present day marijuana culture.

To name a few:

  • Willie Nelson
  • Ed Rosenthal
  • Jack Herer
  • Snoop Dogg
  • Cheech Marin
  • Tommy Chong
  • Woody Harrelson
  • Dennis Hopper

Not exactly a list of lightweights is it? Still, that’s just a sampling of the many people involved with this production.

So, go visit the 420 homepage to see a hi-res version of their brand new trailer, or view a YouTube version after the jump.

Jesse Ventura’s America

April 4th, 2007 by Alex

This short clip from Jesse Ventura’s America show gives us an interesting, if not well-scripted, take on what an alien would see if they came down to observe the human species’ drinking and smoking behavior. More specifically, the hypocrisy that is apparent from an objective, alien perspective.

Mr. Ventura is a documented medical marijuana supporter, so anyone jumping to the conclusion that he’s just tackling a high-profile topic for some positive PR is mistaken. Check out a short bio and his emphatic endorsement towards the use of medicinal pot.

Anyone disagree with his observations? Let us know.

T.H. Seeds: The Leafblower

March 28th, 2007 by Alex

For anyone who dreams of going to a Cannabis Cup and the wondrous activities that may await there, this video is for you.

T.H. Seeds take a little bit of McGyver style know-how and combine it with the anniversary edition of their high-quality strain HP 13.

I’ve been smoked out plenty of times, but these guys take the phrase literally and proceed to decimate a large number of people with their potent buds. On top of that, you get to see and hear a few choice pieces of knowledge from one of the most respected seed banks in the world.

Cocaine Cowboys

March 9th, 2007 by Alex

During the 80s, Colombian drug lords invaded Miami determined to control the trade by whatever means necessary. It’s what put the city on the map. Cocaine Cowboys is based on a true story of how Miami became the drug, murder, and cash capital of the US, recounted by the folk who made it all happen.

It’s a full-length feature film, nearly two hours long. And boy if you love stereotypes, this movie’s got ‘em. So if this sounds like something that might interest you, watch it. If not, just put it on during a party… I’m sure it’ll capture somebody’s attention.

Interview: Teenager who Gave Nephews Pot

March 8th, 2007 by Alex

Whenever a polarizing subjects like drugs and children combine, it’s going to be a lightning rod for criticism. This video shows an uncut interview with the teenager who gave his nephews pot… and recorded it.

You can see the complete cultural opposites of an urban black youth while he’s communicating with the officer who’s doing the interview. In his mind’s eye, he hasn’t done anything horrible like pull a gun on someone or shoot them full of crystal meth, but he still hasn’t digested why people find this so offensive.

Obviously, this behavior is wrong. He knows it, he was just being a stupid kid. Everyone is to some degree, and I’m sure there are things that if you video taped them you’d be in the hot seat, but this sort of shit really puts a bad name on the mantle of pot smokers.

Unfortunately, this video seems to be generated by an anti-ethnic website (and hosted on YouTube). I wasn’t able to find another copy, so I’ve been forced to use this one. tFS doesn’t support the message of the people who generated this video, so we will not acknowledge them with a referring link. I suggest you do the same.

The Hemp Fields of China

March 7th, 2007 by Alex

I really enjoyed this video clip of one man’s travels through one part of China checking out hemp fields and the advantages of the plant.

I think you’ll be surprised at how many applications hemp can be used: clothing, paper, rope, as well as houses entirely made out of the stuff! It makes you take a second look at how much hemp can be used to save (at least a fraction of) our depleting natural resources.

This clip also has some other interesting facts about hemp labor laws in China. You won’t find any child labor here as they keep strict laws to maintain ethical treatment to their employees. One more thing, wait for the surprise at the end!

Peter Tosh - Live @ Reggae Sunsplash ‘79

March 6th, 2007 by Alex

This clip of Peter Tosh singing Legalize It reminds me how strongly he feels about his message. The performance begins like clockwork but by the end you can tell how blazed he is, obviously unable to finish the songs.

You can’t knock Tosh and reggae music. He’s always had that smooth reggae sound. So take some time off, kick your feet up and enjoy this timeless clip.

Allison Margolin = Dopest Lawyer on Earth

March 2nd, 2007 by Alex

This video really puts in perspective how a certain lawyer, Allison Margolin, is trying to make the legal system less harmful for medical marijuana patients and caregivers. She explains the fears associated with having a marijuana license and/or what to do when busted by authorities.

She really is the dopest lawyer I have ever known. She’s not only a lawyer but also a patient. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
