Get Me an Invite, Stat!
September 25th, 2008 by Alex
At first, I was checking out these photos of Kendra Wilkinson, one of the “Girl’s Next Door,” with the usual ‘playmate in lingerie at some premier party’ attitude. Then, I noticed something familiar in the background. Something, very familiar.
The Blunt Wrap logo. Plus, something I hadn’t seen before, Kush Cognac.
This party just started combining a few of every guy’s favorite vices: girls, smoking and drinking. So what the hell is this party, and how do I get invited to the next one?
Turns out it was the Great American Run Kick Off Party by National Lampoon at the Playboy Mansion. It took place earlier this month and was a hefty $650 a person to get in, you know, with the GND and Ludacris around…
Generally, National Lampoon has been dropping some really shitty movies on us, but it looks like they know how to throw a get together. If I get wind of their next launch party, and assuming they don’t read the statement above, you can bet your ass I’m gate crashing.

The Global Marijuana March 2007
May 2nd, 2007 by TimThe Global Marijuana March is coming. Saturday, May 5th 2007, mark your calendars!
The Prince of Pot himself, Marc Emery has been invited to lead The 2007 Global Marijuana March in Toronto, Ontario. Since the event is scheduled for world-wide exposure, the march will take place in more than 233 cities across the planet. The goals of the rallies are to raise awareness and demand the legalization of marijuana, for good.
Others attendees such as Michelle Rainey and Greg Williams will host another march located in Vancouver, BC. Their names may sound a little familiar because they (including Marc Emery) are fighting against US extradition for selling cannabis seeds for nearly ten years. If convicted, they potentially face life sentences. Extradition hearings begin May 28th, 2007 – find out what you can do to help the BC3.
Come out and support our culture!

GreenTherapy.com Presents ExtravaGANJA
January 25th, 2007 by Alex
There are many things that create a perfect match for each other - peanut butter & jelly, rum & coke and (my personal favorite) marijuana & laughter. Knowing this full well, Green Therapy is hosting another ExtravaGANJA in Hollywood, CA.
Green Therapy’s goal is to “raise awareness of the benefits of medical marijuana and to help bring patients some relief by giving them a laugh or two”. That sounds like a damn honorable mission statement to me.
Performing comics include Joe Rogan, Jeff Ross, Doug Benson, Dom Irrera, Todd Glass and more. There’s also going to be an afterparty featuring Los Marijuanos and the DVD release of ‘Get Pony Boy’. Overall, it’s going to be one entertaining night.
Tickets cost $20 at the door with a $5 discount to medical marijuana patients. The event is being held in The Comedy Store, located at 8433 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood.
Doug Benson is one of my favorite comics, so I’m definitely dropping by this show. If you support medical marijuana then come on down and have a great night.
Afroman: Cali Swangin’ Tour
December 27th, 2006 by Alex
There are a couple of stoner anthems that come to mind from the past few years. One of the more popular ones was ‘Because I Got High’ by Afroman. Well, he’s determined not to be a one-hit-wonder and has dropped a 2 disc LP called Afroholic - The Even Better Times.
To promote the new album, Afroman is touring California with his Cali Swangin’ Tour. The first tourdate is January 25th in Hollywood and the last is January 28th in Santa Cruz. His new release is aimed at being a more dynamic rapper and showing there’s more beneath the surface than catchy drug-related jingles.
Check out Afroman’s website here or get more info on tour dates & ticket sales at Howard Presents.

Banksy - Barely Legal
September 16th, 2006 by AlexAs promised, we visited the Banksy - Barely Legal art exhibit on Friday, September 15th in East Los Angeles. We’re going to completely skip the whole ‘painted elephant’ controversy that seems to have been sparked. Instead, we’d like to take you on a photographic journey of the exhibit and offer our small insights into Banksy’s work and his artistic statements.
View theFreshScent’s Banksy Flickr Set for complete coverage.
Enjoy.
Banksy Schedules LA Event
August 28th, 2006 by Alex
Personally, I believe he is one of the most influential artists so far this decade. His stencils, statues, and museum placements are among the most original and daring works placed in the public domain. You can be sure that whatever Banksy has to say, he’s going to put it out there loud and clear for the world to take notice.
If you live in the Los Angeles area, come to the showing and say what’s up. It’ll definitely be worth it.
