Hash Production Made Easy
November 21st, 2008 by Perry
Here is a great hash recipe in eight easy steps, courtesy of Candyskunk and Weedfarmer.
I wish I had known about this method years ago, although be forewarned, I personally haven’t tested it out for myself yet.
Reading through the instructions though, it seems fairly simple to follow. All you need is some keif, wax or parchment paper and a heat source. So basically, there’s no need for big buckets of ice, water and hours of work.
Procedure to make hash below:
- 1. Cut a square of parchment paper about 6″ wide.
- 2. Gather keif into a pile on the paper.
- 3. Carefully fold the paper until the keif is trapped in a compact parchment paper envelope.
- 4. Put the “envelope” on the heat source.
- 5. Apply gentle, constant pressure with your finger.
- 6. Once you can feel the heat through the “envelope”, remove from heat source and cut into pieces.
- 7. Re-fold these pieces, stacked one on the other, and briefly apply heat again.
- 8. Using your fingers, mold the nearly finished product into a ball.
If you’re interested in trying the recipe, give us a heads up on how the finished product comes out in the comments section. We’d love to hear about your results.
INPUT FROM ALEX: I’d say this is more of a shortcut guide for hash than anything else. Nothing can beat fully prepared hash, but if you have a bunch of kief sitting at the bottom of a catch-grinder, this is definitely a solid approach.
Want to bypass the shortcuts and get serious? Make a batch of bubble hash.
YouTube Gem: Grow Weed & Make Hashish
November 20th, 2008 by AlexWho wants to kill some time and gain some knowledge? Well, here’s your chance.
While digging through YouTube I ran across a classic 4 part series titled – How to Grow Weed & Make Hashish.
This calmly narrated series covers the whole spectrum of growing. Let’s break down the contents:
- Part 1 – ideal set-up, grow room preparation and soil mixtures
- Part 2 – further soil prep, seed interaction and plant sexing
- Part 3 – plant care, maturation, pruning, drying and cloning
- Part 4 – hashish, sifting and baking
Overall, this series is kick ass, and the techniques are timeless. It’s definitely a good watch.
Catch the other 3 parts after the jump.
Live Green & Be Healthy

Candy Skunk reports 5 tips to healthier marijuana use, or at least 5 ways to think about why you love our favorite plant.
The number one way is called the “Firecracker,” which I’ve personally never heard of before but sounds delicious. Below is the “Firecracker” recipe, courtesy of Candy Skunk.
1. Get 2 saltine crackers, aluminum foil, some peanut butter, and .5 – 1.5 grams of marijuana. Preheat oven to 375 F degrees.
2. Cut up or grind your bud, and load some peanut butter on one side of BOTH crackers.
3. Sprinkle the marijuana on one cracker, and put the crackers together. THC is absorbed by the fat in the peanut butter, so try to get as much bud touching the peanut butter as you can.
4. Some directions claim 325 degrees, but I say closer to 375 is more effective. THC is vaporized at 392 F degrees, so getting the oven closer to that will allow the greatest amount of THC absorption. Anyway, wrap the crackers in the foil and throw in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
5. For best results, refrigerate overnight. THC is absorbed without heat, just at a slower rate. Refrigerating keeps your crackers germ-free while giving the peanut butter extra time to absorb THC.
It appears that this little number is fairly well-known. So if you have some spare bud lying around and find yourself compelled to give this recipe a shot, let us know how it goes.
Green Man’s Growing Guide
October 2nd, 2008 by Alex
The Internet can be a beautiful thing. It’s one of the few places where people really share knowledge, and expect little in return. Here we have a gem known as Green Man’s Marijuana Growing Guide.
No, not that Greenman.
Instead, it’s a huge, free resource for amateur growers. Check out the main categories you can get tips on:
- Indoor Cultivation
- Outdoor Cultivation
- Hydroponics
- Troubleshooting
- General Growing
- Specific Growing
Nice. Topics range from Hydroponics 101 to Increasing Marijuana Yield. Even if you’re an experienced horticulturalist, I’m sure there is a thing or two on Green Man’s site that you don’t know.
So go check it out, and thanks Green Man, in all your forms.
The Stoner’s Cookbook
March 15th, 2007 by Tim
Not often do you find a community-driven cookbook containing an admirable variety of cannabis recipes, but how about one that looks good to boot? The Stoner’s Cookbook fits this bill.
Not only is it pretty, it displays the recipes in a logical, easy-to-read fashion with the ability to sort alphabetically, chronologically or by rating. This website provides a nice foundation for this segment of online cookbooks. There’s roughly 50 dishes in the database.
Since the website is community-driven and recipes are user-submitted, a bit of common sense is required to narrow down your selection. Some recipes are phony & unreliable and there seems to be a lack of moderation in that area, so chef beware.
Quoted from the website:
The Stoner’s Cookbook is a community website dedicated to those who appreciate the culinary arts while under the influence of our favourite herb… yes we mean the Munchies!
The aim – to gather munchie recipes from all round the world! If you have eaten, created, tasted or sampled something particularly delicious while high, submit it here for others to enjoy!
Next time you get the munchies, consult the Stoner’s Cookbook to make it a truly delectable experience. Happy munching!
Say you have some extra shake around and you’re feeling a little frisky, give one of these a shot. Who knows, you might stumble upon a real delight of a dish.
Munchie Monkey Brownies
February 15th, 2007 by Alex
There are plenty of pot brownie recipes on the internet, but not all are created equally. A tFS reader sent in a scan of the following brownie recipe from the January edition of Out Magazine and damn does it sound delicious.
The scan itself wasn’t of the highest quality, so I’ve just transcribed the recipe here for everyone to enjoy and pass around. I’m a little skeptical about the ‘Pot Prep’ section, but since this is their recipe I’m going to re-print everything here exactly how it is.
Let me know if the brownies taste as good as they sound!

Pot Brownies Made Easy
November 30th, 2006 by Alex
One of the coolest things about the internet is the sharing of knowledge. It allows you to find (and build upon) other peoples’ impressive bodies of work. Doesn’t matter whether it’s for a book report, college thesis, or … say … some delicious pot brownies. It’s all about doing the best you can with what you have access to.
So, finding a highly-detailed site specifically dedicated to making quality pot brownies is something everyone can work with. Over at AppleSoft, you’ll find one of the best tutorials around. With step-by-step instructions, tons of pictures and explanations for his methods – the author has really upped the ante on these fan favorites.
You’ll also find slightly unconventional methods – using oil instead of butter, using smaller amounts of high-grade herb instead of larger amounts of schwag and thorough straining without putting shake into the actual brownie mix.
We’re warming up the tFS ovens over the weekend, so expect Chef Tim and myself to break down exactly how good this ‘How To’ really is.
