Medical Marijuana: Hollywood OG

May 17th, 2007 by Ryan

Hollywood OG Kush

There is one word that dominates this entire review — crystals! The medical marijuana strain pictured above is called Hollywood OG and has just about as many crystals as any strain I’ve come across yet. What better reason to review it?

theFreshScent Product Recap
Strain Hollywood OG
Type Sativa/Indica Hybrid
Pros Long lasting high
Cons Weak taste and pricey
Price $30/g, $80/8th
tFS Rating 8.0/10

This very high-grade marijuana is currently being stocked at dispensaries around the Southern California area. At first glance, the light coloring of the bud may not be its finest aspect, but the sight of how many crystals covering the leafy greens more than make up for it. Combined with a nice fluffiness, this bud is light and sticky to the touch.

This particular plant is not the strongest OG strain, but hey, can you really go wrong with any Kush? This bud got me medicated very quickly and effectively, starting in the head and slowly moving downwards to the body. Still, the strongest effects are felt in the head region. It left me high for almost 3 hours and provided a smooth come down.

While stizzied up on this bud, I strongly suggest watching a good movie or listening to a great album because once the full high kicks in, it’s tough do anything that requires lots of movement.

My overall impression of this Hollywood OG is that it is one high-end marijuana bud. Though a bit on the steep side, the high it provides more than makes up for any deficiences. Still, I’m not so sure why this particular OG strain is called Hollywood other than I purchased it in Hollywood. Go figure.

Juicy Blunts: Bluntzilla

Juicy Blunts: Bluntzilla

Sometimes you walk into a headshop and one product sticks out from the rest. It doesn’t happen all the time but Bluntzilla, by Juicy Blunts, pulled it off.

theFreshScent Product Recap
Category Blunts
Company Juicy Blunts
Made In Dominican Republic
Pros Fancy wrapper?
Cons All bark, no bite
Price $1.00
tFS Rating 7.0/10

You can tell from the picture, that JB put a little too much ‘extreme’ into one blunt wrapper. Drinking Mountain Dew, Juicy tried to re-create the famous sugary flavor.

At first, the wrap smells very similar to Juicy’s Blunt & Mild flavor. After letting it sit for a while, you pick up on hints of sweet with deeper undertones, like a sweet coffee or a latte with too much sugar.

As far as definable traits are concerned, that about covers it. The smoking experience doesn’t give off anything unique. No taste added to your blunt and no aroma emitted. Too bad, because I was expecting really good things from something with such a bold name.

Even though there isn’t as much personality as expected, the smoking experience wasn’t unpleasant. This wrap still brings the high quality Juicy Blunts manufacturing process - even burn and no runs.

This wrap won’t cause panic in a large Japanese city, but it will set you well on your way to personal devastation.

Forbes Surprises with Weed Slideshow

May 4th, 2007 by Tim

###
I wonder what the Vegas odds were on this.

Here we have a slideshow put together by Forbes magazine showing us their take on “The Most Exotic Brands of Weed.”

While at first we were cautiously reluctant to embrace a story like this from Forbes, we got to looking and it ain’t half-bad. Some of the strains they’ve chosen have even graced the pages of tFS, like OG Kush and Sour Diesel.

Still, what do we say Forbes sticks with their “World’s Richest People” lists and leaves the strain reviews to the experts.

420 The Movie

May 3rd, 2007 by Alex

###

The first teasers for 420 The Movie have become available and, by all appearances, the project looks awesome.

Not to be confused with 420, which was written and directed by Jon Lyons in 2004. This movie brings in many of the heavy hitters from past and present day marijuana culture.

To name a few:

  • Willie Nelson
  • Ed Rosenthal
  • Jack Herer
  • Snoop Dogg
  • Cheech Marin
  • Tommy Chong
  • Woody Harrelson
  • Dennis Hopper

Not exactly a list of lightweights is it? Still, that’s just a sampling of the many people involved with this production.

So, go visit the 420 homepage to see a hi-res version of their brand new trailer, or view a YouTube version after the jump.

The Global Marijuana March 2007

May 2nd, 2007 by Tim

The Global Marijuana March 2007

The Global Marijuana March is coming. Saturday, May 5th 2007, mark your calendars!

The Prince of Pot himself, Marc Emery has been invited to lead The 2007 Global Marijuana March in Toronto, Ontario. Since the event is scheduled for world-wide exposure, the march will take place in more than 233 cities across the planet. The goals of the rallies are to raise awareness and demand the legalization of marijuana, for good.

Others attendees such as Michelle Rainey and Greg Williams will host another march located in Vancouver, BC. Their names may sound a little familiar because they (including Marc Emery) are fighting against US extradition for selling cannabis seeds for nearly ten years. If convicted, they potentially face life sentences. Extradition hearings begin May 28th, 2007 – find out what you can do to help the BC3.

Come out and support our culture!
