URGENT: Watch Out for the Weed in the UK

January 3rd, 2007 by Tim

Contaminate

Why? Because it’s contaminated!

There seems to be a wide-spread trend occurring in the UK and apparently it’s been going on for awhile. There’s been several reports of ‘crunchy’ bud (a.k.a. sand weed) - smothered in 50-120 micron non-soluble high melting point glass beads - most likely used to increase weight of the crop.

A bloke from the UKCIA forums, budboy00, said:

…after extracting all the sand from a 3.5, .5 was sand. Yes 14.2% sand you imagine that on a larger scale. Its free money for nothing.

When the tainted bud is smoked in a joint or blunt unfiltered, the glass beads melt into a gaseous state and get drawn into the lungs posing very severe health risks to the user. While we’re not definitive about the health consequences of this relatively new discovery, we’re sure this shit isn’t as safe to consume as untainted pot.

Preliminary analysis by an unknown author states:

Smoking this has resulted in mouth ulcers and sore throats/ chesty coughs which never occur when smoking normally due to the good health and only occasional cannabis use of the subject.

DO NOT SMOKE THIS, IT MAY POSE A SIGNIFICANT HEALTH HAZARD AND WE MAY SEE A DRUG TAKING COMMUNITY CRISIS ON A LARGER SCALE THAN THE MPTP CRISIS OF THE EARLY 80′S.

BUYERS: PLEASE RECONSIDER BEFORE BUYING ANY MORE OF THIS, AND CONSIDER THE DAMAGE YOU MAY BE CAUSING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS.

OTHER CONTAMINANTS SUCH AS NATURAL SAND ARE PROBABLY THE RESULT OF SUPPLIERS COPYING THE ETCHANT METHOD WITH WHATEVER THEY HAVE TO HAND.

So please be careful out there, and be sure to inspect your stash for contaminants!

Another reason marijuana and other drugs should be legalized: a regulated, controlled product free from contamination (unless, of course, the tobacco industry gets a hold of it, then we can expect other goodies like cyanide).

Also, the UK has always struggled with mashed up products, especially their “soap” hash.

I was getting this sandy shit for a while, seemed the only stuff around, I smoked it over a couple of weeks, gave me a sore throat, coughed up a bit of blood in the mornings. Not good stuff at all, steer well clear of it!! Now found a good supply ;)
