Sante Neo FX Eyedrops

October 24th, 2006 by Alex

Sante Neo FX

An essential and often forgotten item in the smokers’ toolbelt are eyedrops. Few people, including myself, have taken the time to think about what brand we buy or what other options are available.

You all know the drill - go to your closest Rite-Aid, make a bee-line for the Visine and drive home happy. That was me also, until my Japanese friend introduced me to the eyedrops to rule all eyedrops.

Cool Rating: 0  Cool Rating: 5

Sante FX Neo - produced by Santen in Japan - are one of the most refreshingly powerful experiences you will ever encounter. Santen, who makes an extremely wide range of drops, rates their products on a cool scale of 0 - 5. The labelings have been made easy to understand, even for us Westerners.

The office favorite, and by far the most powerful stuff Santen makes, is definitely the Neo FX brand. First, you must be careful not to go straight to the level 5 drops. These things are powerful, and skipping the first 4 levels of coolness will leave you in for a rude awakening. It’s much better to start at level 3 or so and work your way up.

Cool Rating: 5

So, what are the benefits? Other than bleaching your eyes white, these drops make colors seem brighter and the air crisper. Putting in eyedrops becomes more of an experience instead of a chore. Imagine diving into a freezing cold lake with your eyes wide open. That’s the best way to describe the Neo FX - it’s a wake-up call like no other.

The only catch with this product is the availability. Made and sold exclusively in Japan, it’s extremely hard to find importers. Luckily, after some old school Google digging, an online store that stocks Neo FX has been found! So if you’ve got it in you, drop the Visine and try something different.

The Breakdown: Price: $14.50 tFS Rating: 8.5/10

I tried these drops and they are not THAT bad.
My eyes felt very refreshed after using them.
I do admit that I had to adjust after the first time using them (because of the minty sensation).
    I think they were OK.

I’ve been using these drops for YEARS, ever since my first time to Japan. I just wanted to say that if any of you live in Hawaii, or Honolulu rather you can get these for like 9 bucks at “Shirokiya” (it’s in the Ala Moana Center).

does anyone know if people who wear contact lenses can use them? most eyedrops are split into two distinct categories: those compatible with lenses and those that are not

I work at an unclaimed baggage center and we had this product in the perfume section.. I’m interested in anything asian related so I bought it and desided to find out what it was. Needless to say I was a bit shocked to find they were eye drops. I’d like to try them since they seem to be so great but since this didnt come with a box I dont know how to find out what level of coolness it is.. I dont want it to be a 5 on my first try…please if anyone can help or have advice on how to tell please mail me.

IT says it all on the box above your post in japanese….but I’m guessing you can’t read that. I say. 1 回 2 3 Drops 日 5~6 Which means…
    1 Use 2 to 3 Drops. Daily 5 to 6 times.

Tania…..the slip inside recommends that Contact lens wearers do not use them as it can create a drying effect.
