Mom Busted for Smoking Weed with Son
September 13th, 2006 by Alex
“Mom, I’m done!”
On Monday of this week, an unusual guilty plea was entered into one Gettysburg, PA courtroom. Amanda Livelsberger, 30, admitted to being guilty of smoking marijuana many times with her 13 year old son. Most commonly, she used the weed smoking sessions as a reward for him completing homework on time.
Now, 13 is a ridiculously young age to be smoking pot, but Ms. Livelsberger started blazing with her son at the age of eleven. Damn.
Putting the whole ‘wait until they’re old enough to actually understand what they’re doing’ thing aside, smoking weed at the age of 11 seriously impacts the growth of the lungs, heart and cardiovascular system. Although it’s well known, many people still take the risk of stunting their development through early drug use.
I don’t know what to think about this one. Having a mom that amazingly chill sounds awesome, but she seriously needs to improve her parenting skills. Couldn’t she give him an Arctic Blast Super Soaker for finishing his homework instead?

Update 11-22-06: Amanda was sentenced to three months in prison, nine months under house arrest, and a year of probation after pleading guilty to three criminal counts.
